Abstract
Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (DAPD) has estabilished itself as an effective method maintain- ing the patients with end stage renal diease. Recurrent peritonitis was the most common cause of catheter removal. Dai]y shower and dressing with betadine around the cateter exit-site are recornmended to prevent peritonitis and pericatherter infection. In this review the training prograrn at Korea Univer- sity Hospital is organized to include (1) bag exchange and (2) catheter exit site care. The role of specially trained nurses is important to achieve the succes of CAPD program.
