Abstract
It is well known that the renal kallikrein-kinin system can influence renal function and is closely connected with the renin-angiotensin system and prostaglandin system. Although the moleculor mechanism of brady- kinin in kidney is exactly unknown, it is generally acepted that the renal kallikrein-kinin system produce renal vasodilation and diuresis. This study was designed to investigate the effect of bradykinin on the function of an isolated perfused rabbit kidney and the influence of captropril and aspirin on the diuretic action of brady- kinin. The results were as follows: 1) The administrations of captopril (5x10-""M) and aspirin(10-"" M) did not alter the function of isolated perfused rabbit kidney. 2) The administration of bradykinin (10 'M) after pretreatment of captopril(5x10-""""'M) produced remark- able diuretic action in spite of initial increase of renal resistance. Thereafter renal effects of bradykinin in- creased in parallel with dose. 3) The administration of captopril (5 x 10"" M) po- tentiated significantly the renal effect of bradyki- nin (10 -"""' M). 4) The administration of aspirin (10-"" M) did not sup- press the renal effect of bradykinin (10-"""' M). The results of this experiment show that bradykinin produce diuretic action and aspirin did not alter the effect of bradykinin.
