Abstract
The most common site of the AVF is the non- dominant forearm. The vessels of the lower extremities are not preferred since they tend to be more atheroscler- otic and more prone to infection. We report a case who has undergone hemodialysis uneventfully for 2 years through right femoral artery-left femoral vein fistula using Gore-tex graft. This procedure was inevitable since CAPD was not possible due to cystostomy status and function of AVF of the upper extremities failed whenever it was made. The function of femoral AVF of this case is well maintained with blood flow of 200 ml/ min during hemodialysis. But some complications such as kinking of the graft, thrombosis, or infection are anticipated.
