Abstract
The term, end-stage renal disease (ESRD) is used to denote irreversible kidney failure that requires dialytic terapy or renal allograft transplantation. But either transient or permanent recovery of renal function in patients diagnosed as ESRD has been reported with a prevalence rate ranging from 0.3% to 2.8%:. Patients with renal failure due to cortical necrosis, systemic lupus erythematosus, and myelomatosis had a higher than average chance of recovery. We herein report 3 cases of end-stage renal disease who recovered their renal functions spontaneously during maintenance dialysis and needed no more dialysis except one case.
