Abstract
Amominal and inguinal hernia are noted with increasing frequency in association with continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) as this mode of dialysis becomes increasingly popular. We recently experienced two cases of inguinal hernia which were developed after initiation of CAPD in the patients with end stage renal desease. They complained only groin edema without clinical evidence of inguinal hernia. The confirmative diagnosis was made by 3 mCi Tc" -sulfur colloid imaging peritoneography. One patient had right inguinal herniorrhaphies and the other patient received conservative care. All have returned successfully to CAPD without complication.
