Abstract
Acute Lobar Nephronia (ALN) refers to a focal inflammatory process of the renal parenchyma without liquefaction. Because it can produce a mass lesion that may mimic an abscess or tumor both clinically and radiologically, its differential diagnosis is very impor- tant for proper therapy. And it could be diagnosed by clinical maifestations and computed tomography or magnetic resornace image, whitch shows nephrographic defects with poorly defined margins and contrast enhan- cement. Recently we have experienced three cases of ALN in children whitch were associated with urinary tract infection or vesicoureteral refiux. We report these cases with a brief review of literatures emphasising the impor- tance of the correct diagnosis by imaging studies so that we can avoid unnecesory invasive diagnostic procedur- es.
