Abstract
Abdominal catastrophes such as cholecystitis, pan- creatitis, appendicitis, and intestinal perforation may mimic bacterial peritonitis. We experienced a case of peritonitis due to sta- phylococcus spp. (coagulase negative) associated with perforated appendicitis in a 62 year-old man on CAPD. Initially, we considered this case as a peritoneal dialysis-associated peritonitis caused by staphylococcus spp. However, the symptoms and signs did not improved after antibiotics and catheter removal. Afterthen, appendiceal perforation was confirmed by aMominal CT and laparotomy after 13 days of admission.
