| Abstract |

Paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria is an uncom- mon acquired disease of unknown etiology character- ized by recurrent chronic hemolytic anemia and throm- bosis. Rarely acute renal failure may occur. The path- ogenesis of acute renal failure in PNH is not well understood. We experienced two cases, which were shown acute renal failure and hemolytic anemia as first manifesta- tion and then diagnosed as PNH by Hams test. These patients might be progressed acute renal failure by hemolytic crisis associated with aggravating factors such as dehydration, hypotension, and renal ischemia. |
