Abstract
Immunosuppressive therapy for treatment of rejection in renal transplantation is inevitably associated with an increased risk of infection. Among them, Listeria monocytogenes in the one of the most important pathogens of meningitis. However, there has been rarely reported in Korea. We here reported a case of successful treatment of listeria meningitis in a renal transplant recipients who received immunosuppressants (steroid, azathioprine and cyclosporine) for several years due to chronic rejection. We confirmed Listeria monocytogenes by CSF culture and treated with ampicillin alone with good clinical outcome.
