Thromboembolism in nephrotic syndrome is often accompanied by changes in the levels of a number of the blood coagulation factors and steroid, diuretics, hyper- lipidemia or veni-puncture as a local trauma probably contributes further to the hypercoagulability. Arterial thrombosis in the nephrotic patient is an uncommon complication and often related with contributing factors. This paper describes a nephrotic patient with arterial thrombosis associated as a first manifestation of the nephrotic syndrome without steroid or diuretics therapy and reviews the literature on the subject. |
